Born in 1981 into a family of much musical heritage Jens started playing the guitar aged ten.  In 2000 Jens took up a place at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London, studying the guitar with Robert Brightmore and chamber music with David Miller. Jens completed his studies in 2006, took further lessons from concert artist Graham Devine, and is now beginning to enjoy a career as a player and teacher.

A passionate and committed chamber musician Jens is an experienced song accompanist, has performed several works for guitar and string quartet, and, as part of the Diabelli Duo performs with fellow guitarist Jørgen Skogmo.  Jens has played for a variety of different orchestras and opera companies, including the European Union Youth Orchestra (directed by Bernard Haitink) and English National Ballet.

As a concerto soloist Jens has performed Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Guitar Concerto No.1 Op.99, Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez  and Ferdinando Carulli’s Concerto Op.140.  Jens has also performed all of Vivaldi’s lute and mandolin concertos in transcription for guitar.
An interest in contemporary music has resulted in Jens premiering solo and ensemble works by the Valencian composer Oscar Colomina i Bosch.

A sought after and enthusiastic teacher Jens is visiting lecturer in guitar at the University of Reading, and guitar tutor at Wellington College, Crowthorne.
